How to Stay Warm in Style | #OOTD

Fall and winter essentials are great for staying warm, but not so great in terms of showing off your stylish side. Winter will go on for a few more months (for those of you in the northern hemisphere at least!), and it’s easy to fall back wearing the same, boring enormous knits and blanket coats just to keep warm.

So bundle up, and here are my secrets to looking fashionable while keeping cozy during fall and winter:

Uniqlo’s Heattech Tops. This is probably one of my greatest finds last year, and I’m still super impressed how they developed these ultra-thin base layers. These are really soft to the touch, and incredibly warm. It’s definitely a staple for fall and winter, especially when you want to stay warm without looking like you’re in bubble wrap.

Boots. An essential to any closet, boots are one of the best ways to keep warm during the freezing months, and to look super stylish as well. It really doesn’t matter if you have knee-length boots, or ankle boots, there are hundreds of ways to style these pairs to match any outfit. My favorite pair is from Marks & Spencer, they’re pretty affordable too.

Pom Pom Berets. If I’m being honest, it really doesn’t have to be a pom pom beret, but that’s are just my personal favorite. You have to admit, they’re pretty cute. But, if berets aren’t your style, any headpiece to match your outfit would be fine, but I do recommend going for a knitted one for that extra warmth. I actually got mine from a local shop, but you can also check Aldo/ Zara/ Old Navy, they have really nice pieces there.

Black Gloves. My favorite part of any outfit —gloves. I feel that black gloves are so classy and feminine, and it brings such an elegant touch to any look. I recommend cashmere knit gloves because it has a nice soft touch, and still does a great job of keeping you warm.

Red Coat. If you want to stand out, especially during winter time, wearing a red coat is a really great idea. This is mostly true for those of you experiencing snow! People tend to wear black during freezing months, and with good reason. However, if you grab the right coat, you can actually wear any color you want and still feel warm. I feel like red is a good color to stand out in a landscape of snow. I don’t recall where I got my red coat; I believe it’s from Zara, but I’m not entirely sure. There are a lot of stores that sell really beautiful coats, just have the patience to scout!

Stylish Scarf. We all have lazy days, but that’s no excuse to dress poorly. For those days when it’s extra difficult to dress up, a stylish scarf would come in handy. There are hundreds of ways to wear a scarf (check out some YouTube videos for this), and spice up your look with a scarf beautifully draping from your neck.

I love winter and fall, and I can’t wait to experience it again. Let me know what you do to stay stylish (and warm!) during the freezing cold, I would love to know.
